Three people were arrested Saturday after officers of the Bellefontaine Police Department were sent to a large fight at Pratt Street and Sandusky Avenue around 9:30 p.m.
Ashley A. Niebuer, 30, of 214 Pratt St., Apt. 4, was charged with obstructing justice while Nicholas R. Niebuer, 27, of Toledo, was charged with disorderly conduct and obstructing official business.
Dustin C. Levan, 22, of 7974 County Road 54, Lewistown, was lodged in jail on a burglary charge.
Ms. Niebuer was hosting a party which became too loud for neighbors and all three suspects were located in the residence. None was cooperative with officers and deputies of the Logan County Sheriff’s Office who arrived to assist officers with the controlling the fight.
Witnesses report Mr. Levan attempted to force his way into another apartment during the fracas.
Man charged for taking heroin into jail
A Kenton man was charged with several drug violations, including a third-degree felony count of conveying drugs into a detention facility, after an officer on patrol stopped to question a suspicious person Friday evening.
Casey M.Sherwood, 44, was seen walking away from a suspected drug house near the intersection of Garfield Avenue and west Sandusky Avenue when he was stopped by an officer at about 5:30 p.m.
During questioning, Mr. Sherwood consented to a search of his pockets and wallet, which turned up a pipe for smoking marijuana and a strip of the prescription opiate blocker, Suboxone. He denied having any other illicit items before being taken into custody.
En route to the Logan County Jail, he reportedly removed a shoe and attempted to hide a pipe for smoking crack cocaine in the police cruiser. While being booked into the jail, he then attempted to hide a bag with four balls of suspected heroin in his mouth.
In addition to the conveying charge, officers filed charges of possession of heroin, possession of a schedule III drug, tampering with evidence, possession of drug abuse instruments and possession of marijuana paraphernalia.
Man arrested for refusing to leave property
Richard Haney, 83, of Fletcher, was charged with criminal trespassing after a 3 p.m. Sunday incident in which he refused to leave a property where he was collecting personal property.
Eariler in the day, an officer accompanied Mr. Haney to a 1003 Garfield Ave. residence and stood by during the transfer of items. The officer left the scene, but Mr. Haney remained in his pickup truck, parked at the front of the lot.
The resident Dustin Harmon, requested police ask him to leave. When officers returned, they gave Mr. Haney several opportunities to leave the area, but he reportedly refused to do so and was taken into custody. His truck was towed from the scene.
