Theodore L. “Ted” Harris, 85, of Belle Center, passed away at 5:15 p.m., Saturday, May 2, 2020, at Logan Acres Care Center in Bellefontaine. He was born in Bellefontaine on March 31, 1935, a son of the late Harold and Isabelle (Sparks) Harris.
Nov. 7, 1978, Ted married the former Judy Kensler in Bellefontaine, and she preceded him in death on July 18, 1986. He was also preceded in death by his sister Emma Harris; brother, Eldon “Topsy” Harris; and a brother-in-law, Byron Clark.
Ted is survived by four daughters, Angie (Chris) Roberts, Amy (John Mullins) Roberts, Shannon (Joe Harrington) Driscol, and Susie (Steve) Cunningham; four sons, Timothy Harris, Terry Harris, Michael Harris, and Dusty (Teri) Harris; several grandchildren and great-grandchildren; six step-children, Steve Puckett, Tom Puckett, Jamie Puckett, John Puckett, Joni Morris, and Kristie Puckett; a sister, Mildred Clark; and several nieces and nephews.
Ted had worked as support staff for the Logan County Sheriff’s Office. He enjoyed fishing, classic cars, and listening to George Jones songs. He especially loved spending time with his family.
The family receives friends from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Wednesday, May 6, 2020, at the Eichholtz Daring & Sanford Funeral Home, 306 N. Elizabeth St. in Belle Center, where a funeral service begins at 1 p.m. Burial follows in Miami Cemetery in Rushsylvania.
