Aubrey E. Johnson, 18, of 3993 W. County Road 37, Huntsville, was charged Friday with two counts of theft.
She was among a group of girls who shopped at Label Shopper, 1802 S. Main St., and Shoe Sensation, 1730 S. Main St., during the afternoon.
Johnson alleged stole a pair of sandals from Label Shopper and then left the sandals in a box of checkered red sneakers she stole from Shoe Sensation. A Shoe Sensation employee noticed Johnson after the suspect exited the store, jumped up and clicked her heels while wearing the stolen shoes.
Officers of the Bellefontaine Police Department tracked her down by contacting one of the group who left job application at Label Shopper.
Johnson came to the department, admitted the thefts and was lodged in the Logan County Jail.
Woman denies, then admits to assault
Noel K. Wood, 50, of 715 W. Chillicothe Ave., Apt. 4, was charged Saturday with obstructing official business.
She was in an argument with Brian K. Mote, of the same address, and reportedly damaged his cellular phone and slammed a door on his left wrist when he tried to leave the residence around 2:30 a.m.
She repeatedly denied any physical assault even though officers observed visible signs of injury. After nearly 15 minutes of denials, she changed her story and acknowledged lying to officers.
Boy lodged in JDC
A 13-year-old Jackson Center boy was charged Friday with delinquency persistent disorderly conduct.
Around 9:30 a.m., he ran off from Mac-A-Cheek Learning Center, 1130 W. Sandusky Ave. He was returned to school and was expelled for the remainder of the year due to repeated disciplinary problems, officers report.
He was to wait for his guardian to pick him up and was warned not to cause further problems.
Within 45 minutes, he ran off again but was soon caught by deputies of the Logan County Sheriff’s Office.
The boy was lodged in the Logan County Juvenile Detention Center.
