Foster Noreiga, 15, of Bellefontaine, sustained serious injuries Monday when he was struck by an eastbound pickup truck on Sandusky Avenue near Greentree Lane, officers of the Bellefontaine Police Department report.
Kellen T. Springs, 33, of Bellefontaine, told officers he was eastbound around 5:10 a.m. and crested a hill. At the same time, Foster was attempting to cross the roadway and was struck by the pickup. Crash reports indicate the teen was not crossing at an appropriate location.
A Bellefontaine squad transported him to Mary Rutan Hospital and then flown out for treatment elsewhere.
Teen lodged
Demitri Dick, 14, of 540 Hamilton St., was charged Tuesday with delinquency persistent disorder conduct after his mother spotted him in a sport utility vehicle outside the residence around 6 p.m.
Emily Dick told officers the SUV was operated but a male suspect who was with Demitri when the teen ran away to Greenville in recent days.
Demitri was reportedly confrontational and belligerent with officers.
The suspect fled the scene he learned police had been called to respond.
Demitri was lodged in local juvenile facilities.
