Margaret A. Barger, 73, of Huntsville, was cited for failure to maintain assured clear distance ahead related to a three-vehicle chain-reaction crash Tuesday evening, where no injuries were reported.
Deputies of the Logan County Sheriff’s Office report she was operating a northbound 2011 Chevrolet Malibu on County Road 130 near County Road 91 about 6 p.m. when her vehicle struck the rear of a northbound 2020 Honda Civic operated by Taylor M. Bates, 21, of Lima, who had slowed in traffic.
The Bates vehicle then struck the rear of a northbound 2010 Chevrolet Traverse operated by Ronieka K. Lynch, 24, of Bellefontaine.
Bates reported possible injuries, but was not transported from the scene. The other drivers did not report any injuries and all three drivers were wearing their seat belts, deputies said.
The Barger and Bates vehicles sustained heavy damage and were towed from the scene. The Lynch vehicle sustained light damage.
