The 2015 tax filing season has begun, and the Logan County Libraries again this year will provide resources for area residents to complete their tax returns.
In recent years, the IRS has seen an increase in filing completed electronically and with software. Because of this trend, the IRS budget for printed forms and instruction booklets has been reduced.
This year, the Knowlton Library of the Logan County Libraries System will be receiving the 1040, 1040A, and 1040EZ forms and instructions. The arrival date has not yet been announced.
The library will not receive any of the tax form schedules, such as Schedule F Profit or Loss From Farming. However, a binder with reproducible copies of the tax forms and instructions for self-serve photocopying will be available at the library. All black and white copies or printouts are 20 cents per sheet.
Reference assistants also will be available to help patrons print forms from www.irs.gov/formspubs.
Another option is to order all of the free forms and instructions directly from www.irs.gov/orderforms or by calling (800) 829-3676.
Call the library at 599-4189 for more information.
