Three suspects were arrested and charged Friday for felony-level drug charges following execution of a search warrant by officers of the Bellefontaine Police Department.
Officers and detective served a narcotics-related search warrant around 7:25 a.m. of a residence at 617 W. Sandusky Ave.
The search warrant was based upon an ongoing investigation into drug trafficking at the residence.
Located at the residence and arrested were Eric Pferman, 48, Andrew Hughes, 35, and Brittnay Hartline, 31, each of 617 W. Sandusky Ave. Hughes and Hartline each were charged with possession of drugs, a second-degree felony; and Pferman was charged with permitting drug abuse, a fifth-degree felony.
A search of the residence turned up a a bulk amount of suspected methamphetamine. There were other suspected narcotics recovered in the residence Also located were multiple small baggies and packaging materials, commonly used for the sales of narcotics. A small amount of the suspected methamphetamine was NIK tested, and did show positive results for methamphetamine.
The suspects were lodged in Logan County Jail, and additional charges are pending.
• T’challa Singleton, 29, of Lima, also was arrested and charged with multiple felonies following a traffic stop executed around 8 p.m. Thursday.
The Bellefontaine Police K9 unit observed a gold Chevy Impala operated by the suspect and confirmed he was wanted on a felony indictment warrant out of Allen County. As officers attempted a traffic stop, the suspect reportedly traveled the wrong way down Walker Street, turning westbound onto west Williams Avenue.
A traffic stop was executed in the 600 block of west Williams Avenue and contact was made with the driver, Singleton, and a female passenger.
The outstanding warrant was confirmed through dispatch and the suspect was placed under arrest, searched and secured in a patrol car.
While Singleton was in the rear of a cruiser, he reportedly removed a plastic bag of suspected cocaine hidden on his person and attempted to hide it in within the cruiser.
The bag of suspected cocaine was recovered and weighed approximately 70 grams.
Singleton was charged with possession and trafficking of cocaine, both first-degree felonies; and tampering with evidence, a third-degree felony. Additional charges are pending.
