Corie R. Anderson, 29, of 209 Second St., Russells Point, was served with a Miami County warrant for larceny and a Logan County warrant for contempt of court Thursday after he was released from Mary Rutan Hospital for treatment of a suspected drug overdose.
Deputies of the Logan County Sheriff’s Office and Robinaugh EMS were dispatched about 9:20 p.m. to 208 S. Main St., DeGraff, on a report of a man who was possibly overdosing and was unresponsive.
Deputies were initially tied up with other emergency calls, and an Ohio State Highway Patrol trooper and a Washington Township Police Department officer first went to the scene. They described the defendant as “gasping for air” when they arrived, and did not find any illegal contraband or drugs at the scene.
EMS personnel reportedly administered six doses of Narcan to Anderson, and en route to the hospital, they reported he regained consciousness.
He admitted to paramedics that he had used heroin.
After being released from the hospital, deputies placed him under arrest for the warrants.
A report will be forwarded to the Logan County Prosecutor’s Office regarding this incident.
