In a case of life imitating a recent Geico commercial, officers of the Bellefontaine Police Department arrested a man Sunday who had hired a driver to transport him during a theft spree.
Unlike the commercial in which the thieves have to wait for their ride, the driver was waiting in the parking lot outside Walgreens, 101 E. Sandusky Ave., as an officer arrested her fare.
Brian L. Bell, 36, of 4000 Alpine Parkway, Lot 14, was charged Sunday with three counts of theft.
Around 3:15 p.m., the officer arrived at Walgreens after store staff reported a man was inside stuffing merchandise under his clothing.
