Several local residents attended a gathering on the lawn of the President Harding Home in Marion on Monday afternoon to challenge 4th District Congressman Jim Jordan, R-Urbana, on his stance on the Affordable Care Act, legislation recently passed to allow the seriously mentally ill to buy guns and concerns about the Russians interfering in the U.S. election and whether President Trump’s campaign had a role in this, local resident Karen Kennedy reports. Despite being on a break from session this week, the congressman did not schedule any town hall meetings; so residents from throughout the district assembled in Marion, Ms. Kennedy said. The Marion Star reported that Rep. Jordan stood firm on his campaign promise to repeal the ACA and said Republicans in the Senate are looking to introduce a new plan when Congress returns to session.
