Hayden M. Hensel, 23, of West Liberty, was lodged in the Clark County Jail Tuesday after deputies of the Clark County Sheriff’s Office recovered a vehicle that allegedly had been stolen from a residence near Bellefontaine.
Deputies of the Logan County Sheriff’s Office received the stolen vehicle report the morning of Sept. 1. Lee Berg, 2020 Township Road 179, Bellefontaine, reported that his 2003 Ford Taurus was stolen from his residence sometime overnight.
The defendant has been charged with a felony count of receiving stolen property related to the theft, and the car was returned to its owner.
Mr. Hensel previously served time related to a 2011 conviction for seven counts of theft, three counts of unauthorized use of a motor vehicle and a single count of failure to comply with an order or signal of an officer. The charges stem from a nine-day crime spree in which the defendant participated in the theft of several automobiles, two dirt bikes, an all-terrain vehicle, a push mower and assorted power tools, as previously reported in the Examiner.
