RATLEFF |
Robert R. Ratleff, 46, of 308 E. Center St., West Mansfield, was charged Wednesday with a felony count of aggravated burglary, along with two counts of aggravated menacing, as a result of incidents this week.
Deputies of the Logan County Sheriff’s Office first were dispatched about 3:40 p.m. Monday to 116 Railroad St., Rushsylvania, on a report of a burglary.
The resident returned home to find that the back door to the home had been forced open and there was heavy damage to the door jam and locking mechanism. The resident said he did not find any items missing and he believed his dog had scared off the suspect.
During investigation into the burglary, Ratleff was identified as a suspect, as it was determined that he had been at 110 Railroad St. that afternoon.
About 7 p.m. Wednesday, deputies were dispatched to the 110 Railroad St. address on a report that Ratleff again was at the residence and that he was not welcome there.
Residents told deputies that he began screaming at them when he was told he was not welcome at the home. He allegedly forced his way past a woman at the entry door and stepped into the residence. The defendant then shouted at her boyfriend to “come outside.”
The woman told deputies that she is eight months pregnant and she also had another child at the home and feared for their safety.
Ratleff was located by deputies and was transported to the Logan County Jail.
