Marcus R. Cobb, 40, of 116 W. Lake Ave., was charged Thursday with two counts of menacing and single counts of obstructing official business and public intoxication.
Officers of the Bellefontaine Police Department were called to the 100 block of west Brown Avenue shortly before 8:45 p.m. As officers arrived, Cobb ran from a large gathering of people. Cobb was observed reaching into the front of his waistband as he ran.
Cobb was confronted at gunpoint in the 200 block of north Detroit Street and was taken into custody.
Officers began talking with witnesses who reported Cobb was a passenger in a white sport utility vehicle and was arguing with a resident. Cobb allegedly threatened to “shoot up the neighborhood.”
The suspect was transported to the Logan County Jail where he became combative with jail staff. He was placed in a restraint chair.
