From the gale force winds that prompted the restoration of the Logan County Courthouse to an industrial wind turbine development, air was the hot topic during the Logan County Commissioners’ annual update to the Top of Ohio Patriots group on Thursday evening.
“This wasn’t a project that any of us ever asked for, it was forced upon us,” Commissioner Tony Core said of the courthouse restoration project.
The statement holds true for the other central topic of the evening — an imminent request by the company EverPower to ask for a payment in lieu of taxes for 18 industrial wind turbines the company wants to build in northern Logan County as part of the proposed 105-turbine Scioto Ridge Wind Farm that extends into Hardin County.
Other topics covered: flood maps, commercial building permits, road and bridge tax, solid waste and recycling, grant funding.
