The Logan County Health District, 310 S. Main St., offers a special immunization clinic from 4 to 6 p.m. Tuesday, May 24, specifically for students entering the seventh-grade or 12th-grade in the 2016-17 school year.
Starting with the 2016-17 school year, students entering seventh-grade are required to have at least one dose of the meningococcal and Tdap vaccine prior to school entry.
Students entering 12th-grade must have a second dose of meningococcal vaccine, with a minimum interval between eight weeks prior to entry.
If the first dose of meningococcal vaccine was administered after the 16th birthday, a second dose is not required.
Prior to the clinic, contact the health district at 651-6186 to verify your insurance. Anthem, Aetna, Medical Mutual and Ohio Medicaid are accepted.
Regular clinics at the health district are Thursday mornings from 9 to 11 a.m. An afternoon clinic is offered on the first Thursday of each month from 2 to 6 p.m.
