Motorist charged with OVI
Chase J. Pfolsgrof, 31, of Marysville, was charged Saturday with operating a vehicle while under the influence of alcohol and/or drugs.
Around 11:20 p.m., an officer observed a car turn northbound from Chillicothe Avenue onto Detroit Street which is one-way southbound in that area.
Pfolsgrof then turned into a public parking lot and parked.
The officer initiated a traffic stop and, upon contact with the motorist, noted an odor of alcohol. The officer also spotted an open bottle of beer in a cup holder.
Pfolsgrof admitted to drinking five beers and acknowledged he should not have been driving, according to the incident report.
An initial sobriety test indicated the motorist was impaired by alcohol and he was taken into custody. He declined to provide a breathalyzer sample.
He was issued traffic citations for wrong-way on a one-way street and having an open container of alcohol in a vehicle. He was released to a sober person.
