Schack scored a game-high 29 points as the visiting Braves led for most of the night in a 48-44 victory over the Chiefs in a key Central Buckeye Conference contest.
Shawnee moves into sole possession of second place in the CBC Kenton Trail division standings with the win. The Braves are now 6-5 overall and 5-1 in the league.
The Chiefs (7-6, 4-2) fall two games behind Jonathan Alder and one game behind Shawnee in the KT race.
“It’s tough, but the positive thing is we still get a shot at both teams ahead of us,” said Bellefontaine head coach Jason Calton. “We’re not in a great situation with the league, but it’s not hopeless either. The most important thing is we have to take care of ourselves. We can’t worry about anybody else right now.”
