Sharon Lee Beck, 70, of Hilliard, and former longtime resident of West Mansfield, passed away Sunday, July 17, 2016, at the OSU Wexner Medical Center, Columbus.
Born June 14, 1946, in Columbus, she was a daughter of the late Ed and Dorothy Pugh Beard.
On Dec. 17, 2000, she was preceded in death by her husband, Larry T. Beck, whom she married at Ft. DeRussy in Honolulu, Hawaii, on Dec. 20, 1968, while on R&R from Vietnam.
Sharon was a graduate of Cincinnati Glen Este High School and received her nursing training at Baylor University. After working as a nurse, she became a librarian with the Logan County District Library, serving the West Mansfield branch for 28 years.
She attended the West Mansfield United Methodist Church for many years, enjoyed reading, working crossword puzzles, traveling and following Phil Dirt and the Dozers, but most of all, she cherished her time spent with family.
Sharon is survived by her children, Jennifer (fiancé Michael Jones) Beck of Hilliard, Amy (Eric) Mann of Hilliard and Brian (Julie Schmidt) Beck of Sartell, Minn.; grandchildren, Callie Mann, Caleb Mann and Heidi Beck; and a brother, Dave (Christy) Beard of Upper Arlington.
Pastors Doug Thompson and Sharon Vanwinkle officiate a celebration of life service at 6 p.m. Thursday, July 21, at the West Mansfield United Methodist Church, where visitation is from 4 to 6 p.m. Private graveside services are for the family.
Memorial contributions may be made to the West Mansfield library.
