A man and woman were arrested on warrants Tuesday after an officer spotted them on foot on Elm Street near High Avenue around 6 p.m.
Sady K. Young, 26, at large, was arrested for failure to appear, but now faces charges of tampering with evidence, obstructing official business, illegal conveyance of drugs into a detention center, possession of drugs, possessions of drug paraphernalia and two counts of possession of dangerous drugs and served a warrant for failure to appear.
Angelo E. Wiggins, 27, at large, was charged with failure to appear.
Young lied about her identity and denied having any illegal drugs in her possession.
Once at the Logan County Jail, officers of the Bellefontaine Police Department found a pipe for smoking crack cocaine on the rear passenger floorboard where she was seated.
She also had a strip of opiate treatment drug and two orange pills in her hands. There also were 112 prescription pills in her purse.
• Christopher W. Rife, 35, of Springfield, was arrested on warrants Wednesday after a 1:20 a.m. traffic stop in the 300 block of north Main Street for driving under suspension.
He was driving a pickup truck with the wrong license plate. Once stopped, officers learned of the warrants out of Ashland County and Mansfield.
He was lodged in jail.
