Lakeview residence was source of drug activity complaints
A Lakeview man was arrested Friday evening when a search warrant was served at his residence a result of complaints received by deputies of the Logan County Sheriff’s Office regarding drug activity at this residence.
Michael J. Helton, 33, of 10508 Township Road 84, Lakeview, was charged with one count of possession of heroin and was served outstanding third-degree felony warrants from Union County for possession of heroin and trafficking heroin when the search warrant was served about 8:30 p.m. He was lodged in the Logan County Jail.
Deputies’ reports indicate the homeowner, Seth Hoffman, 31, had been permitting Helton to stay at the home and to sell drugs. Hoffman also was arrested Friday evening for a misdemeanor count of permitting drug abuse and was lodged in the jail.
When deputies arrived at the home, they noted that a man stepped outside to see who was at the residence, and appeared alarmed upon seeing a cruiser. He immediately went back inside the home.
When deputies entered the residence, they observed two adult males, later identified as Helton and Hoffman, along with an adult female and two elementary age girls. Deputies said the girls were wearing only underwear and were barefoot.
