The Indian Lake Board of Education took the first legal step to terminate superintendent Patrick O’Donnell, who has been accused of a felony sex crime.
The board met in special session Thursday and passed a resolution to place him on unpaid leave pending an action to terminate his contract. He has been on paid leave since his June 19 arrest.
O’Donnell will have 10 days to request a hearing in front of the school board or an independent referee appointed by the Ohio Department of Education before the contract can be terminated.
He is accused of molesting a now 13-year-old girl over the past three years. The victim is not a student in the Indian Lake School District.
