Sandra “Sandy” Rea Duff, resident of Huntsville, passed on to heaven peacefully at her home in Huntsville on Sunday, May 9, 2021.
Sandy was born Jan. 7, 1936, to Ray and Gwen Dalrymple of Bloom Center. She shared a life-long love story with James “Jim” Elder Duff who proceeded her in death. Sandy was also proceeded in death by her brother-in-law, Nevin Smith.
Sandy is survived by her sisters, Phyllis (Don) Wilt and Peggy Smith, sons, Scott (Diane) Duff, Dave (Renee) Duff, Grandchildren, Jason (Lance Scarborough) Duff, Ross (Paige) Duff, Ashley (Jeremy) Sloan, Lauren (David) Major, Sean Jenkins, Tracey (Cory) Whitlow and eight great-grandchildren, which she loved and cherished deeply.
Sandy graduated from Lewistown High School in 1954 and attended Stephens College.
Sandy and her husband, Jim, were lifelong community leaders and small business owners. They were the founders of C.E. Duff & Son, Inc. (later Duff Quarry, Inc.) and Ohio Ready Mix, Inc. Sandy loved providing for her family, the employees of the family business, and her community. She cherished the opportunity to work with her sons as they were starting and growing their business, too. She worked as the bookkeeper at Mr. Concrete for many years while also supporting her grandkids in their goals and endeavors. Sandy loved spending time with her friends and had an open and kind demeanor with everyone she met. She was an avid bowler, loved the game of golf, and would not miss an opportunity to support her kids or grandkids at every concert, activity, or sporting event.
Pastor Bryan Meadows will begin funeral services at 2 p.m. Saturday, May 15, at Huntsville United Methodist Church with visitation from 1 to 2 p.m. Services will be streamed live at huntsvilleumc.com. Burial is in Huntsville Cemetery.
Due to state Covid-19 pandemic guidelines, attendees are asked to be symptom free, maintain social distancing and wear a facial covering.
