Several thousand area residents were treated to an afternoon of family-friendly fun at the Bellefontaine Police Department’s sixth annual Community Safety Event Saturday at Southview Park, where nearly 40 local, state and federal law enforcement and other fire and safety services were represented with specialty vehicles and displays. Helicopter and police canine demonstrations were part of the activities, along with a mock crash showing why seat belts are so important.
