Ruth Kathryn Burnside Slusher, 76, of Bellefontaine, passed away at 12:27 a.m. Thursday, Jan. 31, 2019, at home surrounded by her family. She was born in Tipp City on July 29, 1942, to the late Wilbur Burnside and Kathryn Gorman Burnside.
She was also preceded in death by her brother, Richard Burnside.
Ruth is survived by her two daughters, Kathryn Robinson and Karen (Von) Baughman, both of Bellefontaine; a son, Jason (Shannon) Slusher of Sidney; a stepson, David (Shannon) Slusher of Marion, Ind.; 14 grandchildren, and five great-grandchildren.
Ruth retired from Northern Floral following many years of service.
She later worked part-time at Levy Entertainment until receiving her breast cancer diagnosis in 2008. Ruth loved the Lord, her church family, and most especially spending time with her children and grandchildren. She fought a hard battle for 11 years with breast cancer and will be greatly missed by everyone.
A funeral service begins at 2 p.m. Monday, Feb. 4, at Eichholtz Daring & Sanford Funeral Home and Cremation Center, 321 N. Main St., Bellefontaine, following calling that begins at noon. Pastor Keith Matthews officiates and burial follows in Bellefontaine Cemetery.
