Ruth E. Worley, 98, of Belle Center, passed away at 5:05 p.m. Wednesday, Jan. 17, 2018, at The Homestead at Logan Acres.
She was born in Webster on June 26, 1919, the youngest of eight children of the late Daniel M. and Lucy Byrd Hardman.
On April 5, 1947, she married R. Lester Worley in Webster, and he preceded her in death March 6, 1994.
Ruth is survived by her two daughters, Maureen (Gregory) Yoder and Melanie (Dennis) Fry; eight grandchildren, Gavin (Kristen) Yoder, Colin (Carrie) Yoder, Dr. Grant (Dr. Elizabeth) Yoder, Drew (Signe Anderson) Yoder, Andrew (Kyra) Fry, Zane (Caitlin) Fry and Joel (Andrea) Fry; 10 great-grandchildren, Mullaney, Ethan, Liam, Carter, Caden, Leo, Dagny and Ingrid Yoder and Alexa and Emmett Fry; a niece; and a nephew.
A homemaker, Ruth was a member of the Belle Center United Methodist Church and its Women’s Society. She was also a member of Order of Eastern Star Chapter 459 in Bellefontaine, and the American Legion Auxiliary. Ruth enjoyed sewing, crocheting and reading in her spare time.
Calling is from 2 to 4 p.m. Sunday, Jan. 21, at the Eichholtz Daring & Sanford Funeral Home, 306 N. Elizabeth St., Belle Center. A graveside service will be conducted at 10 a.m. Monday, Jan. 22, in Highland Cemetery in Covington. Pastor Kevin Smith will officiate a memorial service at 1:30 p.m. Monday, Jan. 22, at the Belle Center United Methodist Church, 202 E. Main St., Belle Center.
