Russell E. Rowe, 75 of Bellefontaine, passed Saturday, Sept. 23, 2017, at his residence.
He was born March 17, 1942, in Quincy, to the late Oliver and Louise Fink Rowe.
On Oct. 29, 1961, he married Dixie Bell who preceded him in death in 2005.
Russell married Vicki Smith Talbert on Sept. 1, 2006, and she survives, along with daughters, Michelle (Jeremy) Karg, Tisha (Travis) Young and Karissa (Lee) Alderson; son, Robert (Jalaina) Talbert; grandchildren, Hunter, Cameron, Justin, George, Caitlyn, Kristen, Tori, Dylan (Savannah), Zachary, Kayle (Alan), Alyce and Aleenah; great-grandchildren, Kayden, Liam, Callie, Madilyn and Atlas; sisters, Naomi (Jim) Robinson and Lois (Elmo) Shroyer; brother, Marvin (Kay) Rowe Sr.; and many nieces and nephews.
Russell was a graduate of Quincy High School’s Class of 1960. He worshipped at the Bellefontaine First Church of God and actively served with the Senior Saints. Russell proudly served his country in the United States Army during the Vietnam era. He was an avid bowler, golfer and a lifetime member of the Logan County Fish & Game. He enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren and attending their music and sporting events. Russell fought a courageous year-long battle with cancer with his family by his side. He was a faithful and loving husband, father, grandfather, brother, uncle and friend. He will be deeply missed.
A celebration of life service begins at 4 p.m. Sunday, Oct. 15, at the Bellefontaine First Church of God, 100 E. Brown Ave., and will be followed by a meal.
