Rushsylvania Mayor Katrina Eversole during Monday’s village council meeting unexpectedly resigned the job she was elected to one year ago this week.
She said in a telephone call late Monday that she resigned for personal reasons, but declined to elaborate.
A summary of Monday’s meeting prepared by Clerk-Treasurer Diane Rader indicate the resignation came after a discussion of the October meeting minutes and specifically what items discussed at a meeting are public records.
The mayor promptly submitted her letter of resignation after that discussion, according to the summary.
Council president Tim Rader became acting mayor and council vice president Darrel Bradford became council president, the clerk-treasurer reported.
