Ronald W. Moffitt, 76, of Zanesfield, passed away Saturday, March 13, 2021. A gifted geometry teacher to thousands of Logan County students, he was born on Pi Day, March 14, 1944, to the late Kaylor and Pauline (Grimes) Moffitt.
On July 30, 1966 he married the former Margaret (“Pegg”) King and she preceded him in death on January 6, 2015.
Ron is survived by his three children, Kwyn (Jack Somerville) Moffitt, Kara (Troy) Pack and Kyle (Kristin) Moffitt; eleven grandchildren, Kevin (Julie) Culp, Kayla Culp, Shawn Culp, Nathan Pack, Sarah Pack, Tess Somerville, Alison Somerville, Kaylor Moffitt and Jackson Moffitt; two great-grandsons, Brandt Culp and Logan Culp; one sister, Margaret Ann Gerrietts; one brother, Keith (Betsy) Moffitt; one brother-in-law, Jim (Nancy) King. He also will be missed by nieces, nephews, cousins, aunts, uncles and friends.
Ron graduated class president from Logan Hills High School in 1962. He taught math and coached football and baseball for over 32 years at Logan Hills, Benjamin Logan and Bellefontaine High Schools.
A graveside service will be held at the Zanesfield Cemetery on Saturday, March 27, at 1 p.m.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Zanesfield United Methodist Church or Tri-Valley Fire Department.
