After a long hard, courageous fight with ALS, Ronald E. Popp of Bellefontaine lost his battle on Monday, April 26, 2021. He peacefully passed at home and is now in the loving arms of God.
He was born to Gene and Jane Popp on November 14, 1955, in Columbus. After graduating high school, he proudly served his country in the United States Air Force, being stationed in Colorado. It is here, where he began his love for the rugged west.
In November of 1977, he married “the love of his life, a red head named Carol Ann. “ He enjoyed family vacations, especially to Colorado with his beloved wife Carol Ann, children and grandchildren. Ron was also a proud member of the Solid Rock Baptist Church, he enjoyed hunting, traveling, photography, riding his Harley and was an avid shooter. Until his diagnosis in 2017, Ron worked for the Bellefontaine City Schools.
He is survived by his beloved wife Carol Ann (Nichols/Keller) Popp, his three sons Eric Popp, Greg (Sally) Keller, Chad (Michelle) Keller, five grandchildren Katie Redding, Drew Swank, CadeKeller and Heather Merriman and Breanna Sidders, three great grandchildren, Slayde and Lucas Merriman and Alexis Hone, two brothers, Steve and Dennis Popp.
A celebration and appreciation of his life will be held Monday May 3, at noon in the Jennings Farley Seeley Funeral Home & Crematory. Visitation will be from 11 a.m. until time of Memorial Service.
