Rodney J. Henman, 73, of Bellefontaine, passed away Saturday, Jan. 20, 2018, at Mary Rutan Hospital.
Rodney was born Oct. 21, 1944, in Bellefontaine, to the late Ralph Lambert and Margaret Mary Slattery Henman. On May 22, 1965, he married the love of his life Mary Alice Yates in Sidney, and she survives.
Rodney worked on the railroad for Penn Central and Conrail for many years and then went to work for Honda of America in Marysville, where he retired after 18 years. His retirement years were spent studying his family history and traveling to many cemeteries to ensure that past relatives’ gravesites were cleaned up and presentable.
He also enjoyed doing crossword puzzles for hours on end at his picnic table, watching old cowboy movies and making sure his grandkids always had money in their pockets.
Also surviving are sons, Mike (Kelly) Henman and Brian (Beth) Henman; grandchildren, David (Tiffany) Butler, Amanda Butler, Kaylee Henman, Carli Henman, Jake Henman, Luke Henman, Mallory Henman and Kate Henman; six great-grandchildren; brother, Ralph (Eulaine) Henman and many nieces and nephews.
A private family reception will take place at a later date at Jennings Farley & Seeley Funeral Home & Crematory in West Liberty In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the American Heart Association; 7272 Greenville Ave.; Dallas, TX 75231-4596.
