Robin Michael Petty, 59, of Bellefontaine, passed away Wednesday evening, Jan. 27, 2016, at the OSU Wexner Medical Center, Columbus.
He was born in Bellefontaine on May 12, 1956, to the late Amon L. and Mary E. Carr Petty. Rob also was preceded in death by a sister-in-law, Susan Petty.
Rob was a 1975 graduate of Bellefontaine High School. He worked at the Marysville and East Liberty Honda of America Mfg. plants and retired after 35 years of employment. Rob enjoyed spending time with his children, his granddaughter and his dog Louie.
He enjoyed jogging, collecting classic cars and riding motorcycles. Rob had an extensive collection of Star Trek, Laurel & Hardy and Three Stooges movies. He was a member of St. Patrick Catholic Church, Indian Lake Moose and was a fan of The Ohio State Buckeyes and Cleveland Browns.
Rob married Jayna Reed in September 1988 and she survives in Bellefontaine. He also is survived by children, Heidi (Scott Davis) Petty of DeGraff and Ryan Petty of Bellefontaine; granddaughter, GingerAnn Lynn Steineman and her father, Andrew Steineman; brothers, Mark A. Petty of Bellefontaine, Timothy L. Petty of Beavercreek, Douglas C. Petty of Cuyahoga Falls and Christopher F. (Barbara) of Sidney; an aunt, Mary Lou Carr of Bellefontaine; several nieces and nephews, several great-nieces and great-nephews; numerous cousins and his beloved dog and faithful companion, Louie.
Calling is from 2 to 5 p.m. Sunday, Jan. 31, at the Eichholtz Daring & Sanford Funeral Home, Bellefontaine. Mass of Christian Burial is celebrated at 11 a.m. Monday, Feb. 1, at St. Patrick Catholic Church. Burial is in Calvary Cemetery.
