Robert T. Shoffner, 74, of rural Bellefontaine, passed away Wednesday evening, Jan. 13, 2021, at Mary Rutan Hospital.
Bob was born on Oct. 22, 1946, to the late Thomas and Alice Louise (Culp) Shoffner. He was also preceded in death by four sisters: Mary Wolf, Barb Chance, Sally Harold, and Loretta (Phil) Richardson; and a sister-in-law Pat (Howard) Snapp.
Bob married his high school sweetheart, Dixie Cornelius on Aug. 27, 1967, and she survives. He was blessed with one son, Dave (Janelle) Shoffner of Huntsville; and three grandchildren that he loved so much: Kyle, Kale, and Kelly Shoffner; siblings: Joan Manns, Kate (Bill) Newman, Charles (Ruth) Shoffner, and Tim (Alene) Shoffner; a special niece, Debra (Jerry) Newman; his best friend Tony Hill; and the extended Harford and Horton families.
A 1965 graduate of Buckeye Local High School, Bob was a veteran of the U.S. Marine Corps, having served during the Vietnam War. He retired from Honda after 26 years of work. Bob loved his Pittsburgh Steelers, and enjoyed fishing, working in the barn, and watching his grandkids play sports.
Friends may call on Tuesday, Jan. 19, from noon to 1 p.m. at the Eichholtz Daring & Sanford Funeral Home & Cremation Center, Bellefontaine, where Pastor Bryan Meadows will officiate the funeral service at 1 p.m. Burial will be in Harper Cemetery.
