Robert Eldon Lantz, 79, known affectionately as “Skip” of Bellefontaine, Ohio, passed away on June 21, 2022, peacefully at his home with his loving children by his side.
Skip was born on January 17, 1943, in Bellefontaine, Ohio and grew up in North Lewisburg Ohio. He was a 1962 graduate of Triad High School. He was the son of the late John Richard and Mary Jane Lantz.
He was recently predeceased by his beloved wife Pauline Lantz to whom he was married for 54 years. He met his wife while serving in the United States Air Force. Skip and Pauline married in England and started a family in Ohio. They later relocated to Connecticut with their three children. Skip with his wife resided in Naugatuck until their retirement to Bellefontaine.
Skip served proudly in the United States Air Force. He worked for Sikorsky Aircraft for 30 years as a quality control engineer.
He was involved in many activities and club sports throughout his lifetime, some of which included, the Elks Club and American Legion in Ohio, acting as either President and member, he was the President of the Naugatuck Youth Soccer League, a volunteer for the Naugatuck Hall of Fame, and the Naugatuck Quarterback Club. He was an avid member of the Knights of Columbus, and a volunteer of the Jerry Lewis Telethon and he was a member of the Naugatuck Portuguese Club. Skip took great pride in his support and contributions to these clubs and organizations.
Skip had an amazing spirit and outlook on life. He was a supportive, devoted and loving husband, father, grandfather and friend. He was a passionate and avid Ohio State Buckeyes and Green Bay Packers football fan, and a fan of the Cincinnati Reds. He also enjoyed many summers at Kamp-A-Lot spending time surrounded by family and friends.
His family is comforted knowing that Skip is now at peace and is reunited with his loving wife, Pauline.
Skip is survived by his devoted and cherished children, Victoria Lantz (Bruce), Lisa Lugo, and Robert E. Lantz II (Michelle). His grandchildren, Kenny, Garrett, Justin (Kim), Jamie (Mike), and Brett. His great grandchildren, Maxine, and McKenna. Skip also leaves behind many fond family and friends who will miss him dearly.
Services will be located at Jennings Farley & Seeley Funeral Home and Crematory, 5591 U.S. Route 68 South, West Liberty, on July 8 from 10 a.m. to noon, with military honors. His family will be present to welcome loved ones.
