Melvin Michael McCafferty, 66 of Bellefontaine passed away Saturday, July 2, 2022 at his residence with his sister Peggy by his side holding his hand.
Michael was born June 21, 1956 in Bellefontaine to the late Lester and Woneta Marie (Orahood) McCafferty.
Michael enjoyed being a bartender and loved being a chef throughout his life. He is known by his family for having one of the largest and very detailed cookbooks ever. He was an avid Wizard of OZ fan and enjoyed spoiling his nieces and nephews. Michael also enjoyed shopping at goodwill, thrift stores and Walmart. He had other interests in life of traveling, cooking and collecting antiques. He will be deeply missed by all who had the opportunity to get to know him.
He is survived by his sister, Peggy (Lester) Blosser Sr.; nieces and nephews, Lester (Samantha) Blosser Jr., April Blosser and Danille Blosser; great nieces and nephews, Harper, Lester III, Holly and Rosetta; special friend, Julia Hower; dearest aunt, Patty Clark.
He is preceded in death by his parents.

In honoring Michael’s wishes, a private family burial of ashes will take place in Huntsville Cemetery at a later date.
