Robert D. “Dave” Gough, aka “Kenny,” 79, died at 10 p.m. Thursday, Sept. 22, 2016, at The Lodge Care Center in Cincinnati.
He was born March 2, 1937, in Bellefontaine, to the late Robert D. Sr. and Katherine A. McCoy Gough.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Patricia A. “Patty” Gough, whom he married Aug. 21, 1965.
Mr. Gough was a graduate of Manatee High School in Bradenton, Fla.
He worked as a police officer in Lakeview, for ExCello Corp. in Lima, R&W Truck Line and retired from Dot truck line in Lima.
He served as a union leader for Teamsters Local 908.
He was a member of the Fraternal Order of Eagles Aries 370, where he was an avid pool player and enjoyed playing cards. He was an expert carpenter and enjoyed boating. He was a member of St. Gerard Catholic Church.
Survivors include daughters, Vicki L. (Mark II) Butorac of Cincinnati and Christina A. (Steve) Smalluck of Watsonville, Calif.; a son, Robert D. (Karen) Gough Jr. of Margaret River, Western Australia; a sister, Bobbie Nutter of Bellefontaine; a brother-in-law Michael J. Bender of Marblehead; three grandchildren, Madison Butorac of Cincinnati and Melissa Smalluck and Jimmie Smalluck, both of Watsonville, Calif.; and several nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews.
He was preceded in death by a sister-in-law, Sue Bender of Lima; and a brother-in-law, Fred Nutter, and a niece, Kelly Ware, both of Bellefontaine.
Services begin at 5 p.m. Thursday, Sept. 29, at Chiles-Laman Funeral and Cremation Services, Shawnee Chapel, where friends may call two hours prior to the funeral. Burial will be at a later date in Gethsemani Cemetery.
