Host Riverside played toe-to-toe with Botkins for much of the first half Monday, but the Trojans took command in the second half for a 58-35 victory in non-conference girls basketball action.

The Pirates emerged with a 13-12 advantage after one quarter.
However, Botkins outscored the hosts 16-6 in the second quarter to lead 28-19 at halftime.
