GODWIN |
Riverside sophomore Levi Godwin was the lone area player to receive all-Ohio honors this spring season.
The underclassman earned Division IV second-team honors after the all-Ohio list was recently released by the Ohio High School Baseball Coaches Association.
“Levi is a team player,” said Riverside head coach Scott Mann. “Offensively, he is very disciplined at the plate and a great two-strike hitter. Defensively, he covers a lot of ground in cen- ter field.”
Godwn led Riverside in hitting this spring with a .511 batting average. He had 23 hits in 45 at bats with four doubles and 14 RBI.
“His effort is what separates him and is full speed all the time,” said Mann. “Levi is only going to be a junior next year. This will get him on the radar for recruiting. He has a great shot to play at the next level and I look forward to seeing what the future holds for Levi.”
Godwin was one of only four letterwinners back for the Pirates this spring. He helped the team to an 8-11 overall record and received Northwest Central Conference honors.
