Rhoda D. “Radar” Robinson, 56, of Quincy, passed away at 1:53 p.m. Tuesday, Sept., 18, 2018, at home with her husband and children by her side.
She was born in Dillon, S.C., on Dec. 24, 1961, to the late Charles and June Alford Martindell. June later married Harold Neal, and together they raised Rhoda with love in Bellefontaine.
On Dec. 28, 1979, Radar married Franchie Robinson, at the First Friends Church in Bellefontaine, and he survives. Together they raised four children, Mandy (Daryl) Ranly of St. Henry, April (Andy) Allenbaugh-Robinson of Quincy, Amy (Charles) Shockey of Piqua and Ryan (Monica) Robinson of DeGraff. Rhoda and Franchie were blessed with 15 grandchildren. She loved them and enjoyed nothing more than to be called “Nana.” Those missing her in this respect are Kobe, Alexis, Dylon, Mariah, Bailey, Kylee, Warren, Michael, Morgan, Gavin, Emilee, Bella, Lyia, Dominic and Hannah. She is also survived by two sisters, Susie (Donnie) Hinson of Dillon, S.C., and Dee Dee (Gary) Dolan of Bellefontaine; two brothers, Randy (Janet) Martindell of Bellefontaine and Harold “Jr.” Martindell of New Jersey; four brothers-in-law, Danny (Mary) Robinson, Steven Robinson and Mark Lester, all of Quincy, and Tony Robinson of DeGraff; along with numerous nieces and nephews in both Ohio and South Carolina. She also leaves behind her precious dog, Sammy and cat, Gizmo. In addition to her parents, Rhoda was preceded in death by her brother, Wesley; her father-in-law and mother-in-law, French and Connie Robinson; and a sister-in-law, Janie Lester.
Rhoda worked at Dermatology & Allergy Physicians in Sidney for nearly 25 years. She was loved and respected by the physicians, staff, and patients. Rhoda also loved animals, reading, coaching youth sports, and most especially spending time watching her kids and grandkids participate in sports and other activities.
The Robinson family would like to thank everyone for their support and prayers during this difficult time.
A memorial service begins at 1 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 22, in the Daring & Sanford Funeral Home, 210 W. Hayes St., DeGraff, following calling that begins at 11 a.m. Burial is in Fairview Cemetery in Quincy.
