JACK RESER |
Sometime Monday, Jack Reser will transition from Bellefontaine City Auditor to the interim Logan County Auditor.
He has already won the Republican primary for the county post and he will not face any opposition in the November election.
Still, he has to wait until July 12 for the Logan County Republican Central Committee to appoint a successor to Michael E. Yoder, who is retiring Saturday after more than two decades as auditor.
“I’m really going out on a limb here resigning as city auditor,” he joked Thursday after Logan County Commissioners John Bayliss, Dustin Wickersham and Joe Antram unanimously voted to appoint him to the interim post.
Reser has to resign his city position prior to beginning the interim term as he cannot hold two elected positions at once.
Once Reser resigns the city post, Bellefontaine Mayor Ben Stahler said he is ready to immediately appoint an interim city auditor. City members of the Republican Party will vote at a later day to appoint Reser’s successor.
