The City of Bellefontaine has been informed by Republic Services that due to the extreme weather that may be present Friday, Dec. 23, including high winds and icy roads, refuse and recycling collection will not be completed on Friday.
Households with a normal collection day on the Friday route are asked to set their refuse and recycling out on Monday, Dec. 26. Republic Services will attempt to collect these households after their normal Monday route is completed.
If it is still not collected Monday, those Friday households can set out their containers and bags for collection on Friday, Dec. 30.
Additional refuse bags that do not fit in your authorized container(s) will not need to be in the city “blue bags.”
However, if you subscribe to the city “blue bag” service only, then all of your refuse should be in the blue bags, as always.
“We are sorry for this inconvenience in the delay of service. It is for the safety of the Republic Services drivers and our citizens and to prevent trash and recycling from blowing freely due to high winds. Thank you for your consideration,” city officials said.
