Bellefontaine Elementary School celebrated Read Across America Week this week in conjunction with author Dr. Seuss’ birthday, which is March 2. Pupils wore their favorite hats to school Thursday and enjoyed reading, “The Cat in The Hat.” Other themed days include: Funny Feet Day Monday, with funny socks and shoes, reading The Foot Book and Fox in Socks; Wear Red, White, or Blue Tuesday, reading One Fish, Two Fish, Red Fish, Blue Fish; Wacky Wednesday, dressing mismatched to read the book of the same title; and Wear Green Friday to read Green Eggs and Ham. “Our kiddos really love Dr. Seuss because most of his books are silly books and they enjoy reading them,” BES Principal Pat Martz said.
