Randy Thompson, 67, of DeGraff, passed away at 7:35 p.m. on Sunday, November 28, 2021, at The Ohio State University Wexner Medical Center in Columbus, Ohio. He was born on March 18, 1954, in Shelby County, Ohio, a son of the late Joseph Thompson and Ann (Watkins) Vest.
On July 15, 1972, Randy married the former Sandra L. Zumberger in Sidney, Ohio and she survives. He is also survived by two sons, Mark (Ashley) Thompson and Eric (Sara) Thompson; 8 grandchildren, Taylor Thompson, Katie Thompson, Kelsey Kizer, Blake Kizer, Jenna Thompson, Chandler Thompson, Brittin (Kayla) Nolte, and Peyton Thompson; two great grandchildren, Zavier and Zariaha; 5 siblings, Ray (Alice) Thompson, Karol (Chuck) Creger, Thelma (Bill) Purtee, Keith (Dawn) Thompson, and Tammy (Ron) Purtee; his girlfriend, Ruth Kueterman; and numerous nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, Randy was preceded in death by a great granddaughter, Zylah; two siblings, Danny Lee Thompson, and Terena Kay Thompson; and a sister-in-law, Judy Thompson.
A 1972 Riverside High School graduate, Randy had worked as a machinist. He was an avid sports fan and loved to camp.
The family will receive friends from 5 to 7 p.m. Thursday, December 2, at the Daring & Sanford Funeral Home, 210 W. Hayes Street in DeGraff. A funeral service will be held at 10 a.m. Friday, December 3, at the funeral home. Burial will follow in Greenwood-Union Cemetery in DeGraff, Ohio.
