Ralph H. Robb, 75 of Lakeview, passed away Saturday, June 3, 2017, surrounded by his loving wife and family.
He was born on the family farm north of Lakeview on Feb. 22, 1942, to the late Merle Robb and Dorcas Baughman Robb Tannehill. He was also preceded in death by a grandson, David Nelson.
On Dec. 27, 1961, he married the former Rose Ann Clay, who survives, along with their children, Kristy (Rocky) Robb-Rothgeb of Sprinfield, David M. Robb of Lakeview, Kathy (Andrew) Huey of West Mansfield and Nicole Robb of Bellefontaine; a sister, Dianne Cooper of Bellefontaine; grandchildren, Serina (John) Leistritz of Cable, J. Robb Grounds of Worthington, Elizabeth (Eric) Grounds Beistline of Enon, Coriena (John) Grounds Randell of Delaware, Danialle (Ryan) Grounds Barh of Enon, Ashley McCollum-Lakey of Anderson, Ind., Courtney and Alaina Robb of Bellefontaine, C. Joe (Kristin) Gonterman of Hilliard, Katrina (Travis) Fox of Springboro, Colleen Huey of Marysville and Kayli (Trenton) Lewis of Huntsville; and great-grandchildren, Caleb, Kadreona, Kyanna, Kandra, Kelsey, Clayton, Taytum, Urijah and Nyjah and twins due in September, Melina and Audriena. He is also known affectionately as Grandpa outside his family to more than two generations.
Ralph graduated from Indian Lake High School in 1961 and joined the Air Force the same year, where he served until 1965. He worked at Rockwell International for many years and retired as a production engineer from Honda of America in 2004.
He attended First Church of God in Bellefontaine for over 50 years and was very active in his church, where he taught Sunday School and Church Time, and drove the church bus. His favorite place was in the nursery rocking the babies. Upon retirement, his ministry was in the kitchen, cooking for many church dinners and banquets, served by the senior group.
His gift of love to his family was cooking his special recipes for visits and holidays.
A celebration of life memorial will be held from 2 to 4 p.m. Sunday, June 25, at the First Church of God, 1000 E. Brown Ave., Bellefontaine, through arrangements by Shoffstall Funeral Home, Lakeview.
Memorial contributions may be given in his name to First Church of God and to New Path Pregnancy Resource Center, 110 N. Detroit St., Bellefontaine.
