Students from the Bellefontaine High School Art Department collaborated with local business owners to design and decorate their storefronts for Bellefontaine’s First Friday event, the Pumpkin Walk, slated for 4 to 8 p.m. Friday, Oct. 1. Students worked with Craft, Paper, Scissors owner Nancy Funderburgh to create large-scale “Nightmare Before Christmas”-themed murals. Other students designed Mickey Mouse inspired work to decorate the windows of Lee’s Shoes owned by Jack Reser. Each young artist added a Bellefontaine and Fall twist to classic Disney characters to make the scenes even more relatable for the community. The Pumpkin Walk includes trick-or-treat, hayrides, photo ops, face painting, and more. The event is organized by The Downtown Bellefontaine Partnership.
