More than 10,000 Dayton Power & Light customers were without power this morning, forcing Indian Lake School District to close for the day.
The DP&L website reported 7,269 customers in northwest Logan County, 3,099 customers in Shelby County and 90 in Auglaize County were without power at about 8 a.m.
The outage was reported at about 6:55 a.m. and multiple crews responded immediately, a company spokeswoman reported. Power was restored to all customers by 8:14 a.m., and the problem was “transmission-related,” she said.
Indian Lake Schools initially called a two-hour delay, then administrators moved to cancel classes for the remainder of the day. The district’s all-call system to notify parents of schedule changes, was affected by the outage as well, and was not operational.
