Wesley K. Anderson, 31, of 420 N. Detroit St., was charged Saturday with public intoxication.
He showed up at the police department at 9:35 p.m., hoping for a ride home. He said he was unable to walk any further because of a leg injury.
Officers were not permitted to provide him a ride and he had no one to call for a ride. He was unsteady on his feet and admitted to drinking 18 beers.
He was taken into custody and lodged in jail.
Return lands man in jail
James F. Shupert, 41, at large, was arrested Friday for persistent disorderly conduct.
He was at 1002 Heritage Court, but the resident no longer wanted him as guest. He gathered his possessions and left for another apartment to stay the night.
Officers cleared the scene of the 9:20 p.m. call, only to to be called back within minutes.
He had returned and ran after one of the residents.
He was lodged in jail.
