Officers of the Bellefontaine Police Department are investigating a strong-arm robbery in which a named female suspect assaulted a 57-year-old city woman and stole the keys to the victim’s sports utility vehicle and a credit card before driving off in the SUV late Wednesday.
Karen Bulluck, 602 W. Chillicothe Ave., met with officers around 12:35 a.m. Thursday and told them the suspect approached Bullock outside her residence around 11:30 p.m. Wednesday wanting to borrow the vehicle. Bulluck would not let the suspect have the vehicle which led to a prolonged argument and confrontation inside the residence.
The suspect would not let Bulluck leave before forcibly taking the keys from Bulluck along with her cellular phone in a case. The case also contained credit cards and identification.
Before fleeing in the SUV, the suspect removed a credit card and left the cellular phone and case behind.
An officer later reported finding the vehicle at 230 Shady Lane Drive.
