SPRINGFIELD — Ben Logan knew the press was coming. It worked diligently on it in practice over the last two days after it knew it would be matching up with Northridge in a Division II sectional final Friday.

As much as the Raiders tried to simulate Northridge’s full-court press in practice, though, they found out facing it live and in person was an entirely different animal. Northridge forced the Raiders into 26 turnovers as Ben Logan did not have an answer for the Polar Bears’ stifling defensive pressure in a 65-34 loss at Springfield High School.
“Their pressure is for real,” said Ben Logan head coach Kam Saylor. “They are really physical and get their hands on you. When they are allowed to play that way, it’s tough. We turned the ball over on our first four or five possessions.
“(Northridge’s defense) is a hard thing to simulate. They are extremely physical and aggressive. We just were not strong enough with the basketball.”
