The Pirates, who came in hitting over .400 as a team with 25 home runs, were able to muster just four hits off King in a 3-1 loss to the Indians in a Division IV district title game at West Liberty-Salem.
“Our bats just didn’t come alive today,” said Riverside head coach Andy Phelps. “They have a good pitcher and we knew it would be a battle. She kept us off-balance and we were not getting on top of the ball.”
