ALBERTA LAMBERT |
Alberta Lambert, a former resident of Huntsville, will celebrate her 100th birthday Thursday, Dec. 1.
She presently resides at Chesapeake Place Assisted Living, 1508 Volvo Parkway, Chesapeake, VA, 23320.
Mrs. Lambert, widow of Clifton Lambert, gave piano lessons in the Logan County area, and her daughter reports that the family counted the recorded names of people she gave lessons to, and it was more than 600 children and adults.
At her Assisted Living residence, some call her “The Piano Lady,” and she still regularly plays the musical instrument.
“She has even gone to the Alzheimer’s Building next door and played hymns,” her daughter, Dee Jackson said in an e-mail. “She said it’s amazing how many of the residents there sing along with her while she plays … They remember the words!”
Mrs. Lambert and her husband are the parents of Barbara (John) Bilyk and Dee (Glenn) Jackson, both of Chesapeake, and Eldon Lambert of St. Croix, U.S. Virgin Islands. Seven grandchildren, eight great-grandchildren and three step great-grandchildren complete her family.
